MEET RABIN HUISSEN: ARTIST WHO EXPRESSES HIS WORK THROUGH REBELLIOUS MODERN ART, INSPIRED BY HIS JOURNEY THROUGHOUT SOUTHEAST ASIA AT Photo-Basel/ Berlin at POSITION – Berlin Art Fair 2020

Monday September 7,2020 Bangkok Thailand

As we are all aware, the present day’s Covid-19 global outbreak is nothing but a tough time for everyone. It affects people’s health, freedom, finance, and livelihood. No exception to artists.

However, there is yet one individual who still can strive and stand out like no other people with a similar career could, and it comes to no surprise at all when we realize he is our very best friend: Rabin Huissen. Previously on our People column, Rabin Huissen was yet another guest of honor who impressed us with his outstanding kindness and sheer inspiring work of arts.

Meet Rabin Huissen’s latest creation, showcasing his photographic artworks made in Thailand. His big selection of photographic artworks will be exhibit as a visual dialogue between the works. Each work is unique and based on early technics of photography that Huissen uses as a tool during his travels. He experiments in making notation about the present as ‘memoires’ and is made various colors. They are mysterious and delicate and resonate memories of Time, Space and Huissen’s Human conditions.

Huissen’s travels to South East Asia occupy a crucial role in his practice: drawing heavily upon the locations in which they were created, his works’ seek to cultivate pure concentrations of the present. His recent work includes a new series Evolving Works, in which – borne out of his travels to Thailand – the fleeting contours and shadows of his hands and feet in relation to the changeable lighting conditions of the region are fixed as photographs on light-sensitive paper. With these works, Huissen seeks to come closer to the present moment; permitting his movements, sweat, body temperature, and breath to each influence the outcome of the work. The photographic prints are developed in-situ, causing further unexpected developments in the images’ color.

In this time, there’s nothing that could revitalize our spirit like an inspiring art, we would like to invite Huissen’s fan to visit his showcase ‘Life in Fragments’ during 10-13 September 2020 at Photo-Basel/ Berlin at POSITION – Berlin Art Fair 2020, Germany.
